As part of the training year, our trainees visit a primary school, a school in challenging circumstances and a special school.  The visits give the trainees an insight into a setting which is very different to their current placement school.

The latest statistics from UCAS report that applications to teacher training have declined by 27,000 in the last 12 months.  However, Mid Essex ITT is bucking the trend....

Mid Essex ITT is excited to be involved with a new internship scheme for current Maths and Physics students.  If you are in your penultimate year at university studying for a Maths or Physics related degree, we would like to hear from you! 

Our History and Drama courses are now shut on UCAS*.  However, we still have spaces left to train in other subjects....

Are you thinking about training to teach, but uncertain if your subject knowledge is up to scratch?  Did you know that you can complete a Subject Knowledge Enhancement course to help with this?  And, did you know that if you meet the eligibility criteria, it will be funded for you?

We carefully read every application form we receive through UCAS and for the candidates who are shortlisted, we hold regular interview days in Braintree. The feedback we receive from the candidates about the interview process is overwhelmingly positive.

If you haven't worked in a school before, we recommend that you arrange a visit to a school(s) whilst you are planning your application.  It is an excellent way to find out if teaching is the career for you, plus it gives you some fantastic things to talk about at interview.
