Mid Essex ITT will be holding regular coffee mornings on Thursdays, 9.30am-11.30am, in Braintree. If you would like to come along, please email us to book a place or call the office on 01376 556398.
You can now search on the Department for Education's new "Find" postgraduate teacher training courses tool to find providers near you. You can then apply for up to three teacher training courses through UCAS.
As well as being awarded QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), trainees on our course will also receive a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) from the University of Greenwich. Trainees completing the PGCE (level 7) will be awarded 120 credits – 60 of these credits can be used towards further study at Master’s level.
If you have wondered what it might be like to be a teacher, take a look at our "home made" video of some photographs taken by our trainees. It is an interesting but honest insight!
Mid Essex is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and we would love to get in touch with as many past trainees as we can, to find out what they are up to now and invite them to an exciting Alumni event in May 2020!
Welcome to Mid Essex Initial Teacher Training. Mid Essex is an outstanding school-based Initial Teacher Training scheme. This means that you will undertake most of your training within a local Essex school environment. We will train you to teach at secondary school level and, after successfully completing the course, you will be awarded QTS and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) accredited by the University of Greenwich. We also offer both full time and part time options.
We have 25 years of experience of teacher training and over 750 teachers have trained with us. We are unique in that all our training is run by experienced, practising teachers. We are based at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form and have links with over 20 secondary schools around Essex.
Mid Essex ITT was recognised as 'outstanding' in all categories by Ofsted in October 2017.
For our September 2020 intake, we have space for 60 trainee teachers. Would you like to be one of them?
