Psychology Lead Subject Mentor
Jane Rothman graduated from Leeds University before completing her PGCE in Science at Nottingham University in 1992 (PGCEs in Psychology were almost unheard of in 1992).
After working as a Science teacher she started teaching Psychology in 2003 at Leigh City Technology College, before moving back to Essex when she started her family. She continued to teach both subjects in schools in Brentwood and Dagenham before moving to Moulsham High School in 2017, before following her passion taking up the post of Subject Leader for Psychology and teaching predominately Psychology. She also has many years’ experience as an A level Examiner in Psychology.
With a very varied career in teaching both Science and Psychology, including many years as a Mentor for trainee teachers, she was excited to take up the opportunity of Lead Subject Mentor in Psychology in 2018 to help support teachers starting their career in this fascinating subject. This will be her fourth year in the role.
