World Mental Health Day – Let’s Make it a Reality
This Sunday (10th October) is #WorldMentalHeathDay.
The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.
The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
We at Mid Essex Teacher Training take our trainees’ well-being very seriously. It is something we are extremely mindful of both upfront and behind the scenes. We are very aware that every trainee has a life away from their course and will face ups and downs as they navigate their journey. We encourage being open and honest about how you are feeling, and what difficulties you might be facing, and we will always do our utmost to support you.
In turn, we value those trainees and teachers who take the time to consider their colleagues' and pupils’ mental health. In a fast-paced world where kindness, empathy and awareness of others often seem to take a back seat, let’s use this day to slow down and really think about how others might be feeling.
