Emma Currie
Emma has a BA hons in Fashion Studies from the London College of Fashion, which she gained in 2003 before she went on to work as an assistant buyer for a number of high street stores.
She achieved a higher diploma in Design and Technology following completion of a one-year full-time subject knowledge enhancement course to develop her skills in other areas of DT, before then going on to complete her PGCE.
She began teaching in 2012 and has remained at Notley High School since qualifying. She has held positions of temporary Head of Subject and as Assistant Faculty Leader.
She began her role with MEITT as Lead Subject Tutor in 2018 and has supported a number of D&T trainees from a wide range of backgrounds. In January 2022, she was given the responsibility of induction tutor overseeing ECTs within the school and as Professional Tutor supporting all other trainees.
Emma feels it is very much a privilege to work alongside people at the very start of their career and enjoys supporting their progress and seeing them develop into inspiring practitioners. She is currently working towards completing her NPQ in leading teacher development with TeachFirst.
