Carol Kerrigan

Carol has been teaching Geography for over 37 years.  She is currently Assistant Headteacher at Mayflower High, where she has been for the last fifteen years.

Prior to Mayflower High, she worked in a number of schools initially in Inner London and subsequently for the last seventeen years in Essex.

She has held a variety of middle and senior leadership roles, including Head of Year, Head of Lower School and Assistant Head currently for Staff Development, but also as the lead for student services /student welfare and standards. Her practical experience is underpinned by theoretical knowledge gained from a range of CPD activities, including an MSc in Education Management. She has facilitated the both the NPQML & NPQSL Programmes for the  Billericay TSA, and has worked with and supported a diverse range of senior leaders as part of this programme. Carol is an accredited facilitator for Eastern Leadership and has also run a variety of other training courses such as DSLP Developing Senior Leadership Potential for the TSA. Programmes have been co-led cross phase with a variety of primary colleagues.

Carol was a mentor for Geography PGCE trainees for the Institute of Education for a number of years whilst teaching in Inner London. She is now the Professional Mentor for both Billericay SCITT and Mid Essex ITT.
