Our Trainee Cohort of 2019-2020

Well done to our new cohort of trainee teachers who have completed four weeks in their placement schools! This year's cohort are training in 15 different subjects and based in 22 different schools in Essex.

PGCE accredited by the University of Greenwich

As well as being awarded QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), trainees on our course will also receive a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) from the University of Greenwich. Trainees completing the PGCE (level 7) will be awarded 120 credits – 60 of these credits can be used towards further study at Master’s level.

Welcome to Mid Essex Initial Teacher Training.

Welcome to Mid Essex Initial Teacher Training. Mid Essex is an outstanding school-based Initial Teacher Training scheme. This means that you will undertake most of your training within a local Essex school environment. We will train you to teach at secondary school level and, after successfully completing the course, you will be awarded QTS and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) accredited by the University of Greenwich. We also offer both full time and part time options.

We have 25 years of experience of teacher training and over 750 teachers have trained with us. We are unique in that all our training is run by experienced, practising teachers. We are based at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form and have links with over 20 secondary schools around Essex.

Mid Essex ITT was recognised as 'outstanding' in all categories by Ofsted in October 2017.
