Kristy began her English teaching career at a comprehensive school in Oxford before moving back to Essex in 2003. Whilst teaching at Great Baddow High School, she held a pastoral head role in charge of KS4 girls. Upon moving to Notley High School in 2006, she worked as part of the Lead English teacher scheme for Essex schools, providing outreach support across the county.
In 2008 Kristy became an Advanced Skills Teacher, again supporting other English departments in Essex whilst also implementing the building blocks of Assessment for Learning across Notley. In April 2009, Kristy became the head of the English Faculty at Notley until 2012 when she decided to combine part time work with the demands of being a parent.
Kristy has mentored many trainees and NQTs herself during her time at Notley and fully understand the demands of the training year.
Kristy is accredited to deliver the Outstanding Teacher Programme and continues to teach across the 11-19 age range. She has been a Course Tutor for MEITT since September 2014.
