Welcome to Mid Essex Initial Teacher Training

Mid Essex is a school-based Initial Teacher Training scheme. This means that you will undertake most of your training within a local Essex school environment. We will train you to teach at secondary school level and, after successfully completing the course, you will be awarded QTS and a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (ProfGCE).

We have over 20 years of experience of teacher training and over 500 teachers have trained with us. We are unique in that all our training is run by experienced, practising teachers. We are based at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form and have links with over 20 secondary schools around Essex.  We work closely with a number of schools in Chelmsford (Chelmer Valley High School, Hylands School, Moulsham High School and The Sandon School), Brentwood (Brentwood County High School and Shenfield High School), Billericay (The Billericay School and Mayflower High School) as well as schools in Braintree (Alec Hunter Academy), Dunmow (Helena Romanes School), Hockley (Greensward Academy), Halstead (The Ramsey Academy) and Thundersley (The Deanes School).

For our September 2017 intake, we have space for up to 60 trainee teachers, across 16 different subjects. Would you like to be one of them?
